Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas to you and your family! I hope you've had a wonderful day full of love and laughter. I made it home safe and sound to North Carolina and have been loving every minute of it. It is going to be a pretty jam packed week (full of fun of course) but I honestly think I have something planned for about every hour that I am home.

But first first a recap of how I made it home.

We hit the road Wednesday afternoon around 11 am.

Using my Christmas present from Matt (the new GPS), Colby took over the role as lead navigator. She lasted in the front for a short time, but with a 7 hour drive to Illinois, she was back and forth a lot. I am pretty sure this was her favorite spot of the ride.

We made it to Champaign by about 6:30 and after unpacking and letting Colby out at the hotel, we headed to my parents favorite pizza place: Papa Del's, for some deep dish pizza! We enjoyed a few Shiner Bocks and an amazing pepperoni and sausage pizza.

What a cutie.
After we had stuffed ourselves, we headed straight back to the hotel to pass out. We got an early start the next morning because we had an 11 hour drive to NC in front of us.

After a second day of driving, we made it to North Carolina by about 7:30 EST. It so great to see the family and finally be out of the car. Everyone was very exhausted from the two days of traveling.

Now its just been two great days of catching up and spending time together. I love the holiday season and being home for Christmas was excatly what I needed. I hope you've had a wonderful day today and have been filled with the joy of the Christmas spirit!

Merry Christmas everyone!
