Trinity High School • Friday I went to see my first Trinity Bulldog football game of the year.  I knew it would be difficult for the Bulldogs to pull out a win.  They were playing a pretty good Southern Guilford team, and the Bulldogs have had some difficulty scoring this season.
Trinity was able to get down inside the one yard line early in the first quarter, but was unable to push the ball across.  After that it was pretty much all dominated by the Storm.  I did come away noticing three things in this game.http://www.myrandolphsports.com/uploads/articles/ths_cover_custom.jpg
1.  Dalton Rogers is a pretty good football player.  I watched him play several basketball games last year, but I was impressed with the way he played his outside linebacker position.  He plays with a lot of energy and can be difficult to block.
2.  Troy Whittman and his staff will not give up on their team.  No matter what the score is these coaches keep coaching.  Several times when I thought some of the Bulldog players were about to give up, the Trinity coaches were there urging the players to keep getting better.  Coach Whittman and the assistant coaches know this team is out manned during most of their games this year, but they have not quit on their players.
3.  I was very impressed with the Trinity quarterback, Aaron Taylor.  I may have just found my new favorite football player in the county.  Taylor may be the toughest football player in the county.  He is not a big player by any means, but he plays big.  He takes a pounding as he runs the double wing option attack, but he is always fighting for extra yardage.  I do not know what kind of person he is, but I know he is a competitive and determined player.  If I were picking a team, I am not sure he would be the first quarterback chosen, but he is definitely a player you want on your team.  I was very impressed with Taylor's leadership and drive.  When you have a team who is struggling, it is sometimes hard to find positive areas.  If you do not see the positive play of Aaron Taylor, then you really do not understand football.  Aaron Taylor is a player every team and every coach would love to have.
