Chipping Away at May

Oh lazy Sunday, my favorite day of the whole week! I love having no obligations or plans and just snuggling up with Colby all day.

But back to the week...

There weren't many highlights from the past work week. Just getting back into the routine and chipping away at the month of May. Friday was a nice change of pace. We had the chance to attend the University of Nebraska annual Gandhi conference, where individuals who strive to emulate the nonviolence approach to building community were recognized and gave conference style workshops.

It was a great experience to see and hear people who have so much invested in the Omaha community that run organizations that make a difference everyday.

Its always great to be reminded of how many people care so much about making the world a better place.

On to Saturday!

After an early morning 8 mile run with Jamie and a quick check up at the vet for Colby, I traveled with some co-workers out to rural Lincoln for a cookout. One of the Americorps volunteers that I work with is from Pickrell, NE (about 2 hours southwest of Omaha) and a group of us drove to his farm to hang out.

The cookout was great and the farm was adorable. It reminded me so much of Matthew's farm, I felt so at home. We enjoyed food outside at the picnic table and even built a bonfire when the sun went down.

It was a great way to spend a Saturday night!

Now its back to the pup and our lazy Sunday. We need all the rest we can get with all the exciting things coming up: - the marathon in Fargo next weekend and -Matthew's visit the weekend after that!

Happy Sunday everyone!
