tomorrow's FRIDAY!!! Thank goodness.
Today was busy so it passed by pretty quickly. This morning I went to the Goodwill Business Office here in Omaha to discuss a tutoring opportunity. Starting next week I will be tutoring a person who dropped out of high school and is working on getting their GED.
Then it was off to my favorite coffee shop, Aroma's for a meeting with Sarah about the curriculum for my after-school program at Nathan Hale . I love everything about this look nook in the Old Market.
Work has gotten pretty busy and my paper is in the full review stage so lots of corrections and re-writes. I was surprisingly focused all the way up to 4 o'clock.
After work it was time for the long mid-week run. Not my favorite, but it was only 7 miles and a nice day and someone really wanted to come along.
So Colby and I hit Keystone hoping to get in a quick and painless run. I think I have figured out the key to running my fastest splits....
1. making myself run when I really don't want to run
and
2. run with Colby
I tell you, I really wasn't up for 7 miles today and constantly had to talk myself into continuing. Colby was also keeping the pace really quick, she must have wanted to get it over with fast as well.
Split | Time | Distance | Avg Pace |
---|---|---|---|
Summary | 59:14.2 | 7.00 | 8:28 |
1 | 8:51.0 | 1.00 | 8:51 |
2 | 8:17.8 | 1.00 | 8:17 |
3 | 8:38.9 | 1.00 | 8:38 |
4 | 8:16.4 | 1.00 | 8:16 |
5 | 8:24.7 | 1.00 | 8:25 |
6 | 8:24.4 | 1.00 | 8:24 |
7 | 8:21.0 | 1.00 | 8:21 |
Not too shabby for a mid-week run after a full day of work. Maybe I should bring Colby with me to run the marathon....
Now we are pretty pooped (
I am pretty sure every night I go to bed a little bit earlier and honestly, I'm alright with that.
Goodnight everyone!
