Sunday Recap

Today was such a nice day. It began with sleeping in and an early afternoon trip to 11worth Cafe for breakfast.

Then Jamie and I went for our usual Sunday afternoon run. We decided to start at the Pedestrian Bridge and head east into Iowa.

While running, we ran into this little gem. If you can't read the sign, its the eastern terminus of the Union Pacific Railroad, fixed by Abraham Lincoln dedicated in April 1939. Pretty cool!

Then after showering and resting up, I headed to Martini Nail Salon and finally got a pedicure. So relaxing and worth it! I told myself that this year of "living in poverty" I would give up luxuries like pedicures, but I've decided that you have to treat yourself to something every now and then and my treat is an occasional pedi!

Back at the apartment, it was time for dinner. I've had a couple of sweet potatoes lying around and finally decided to try making some sweet potato fries.

I used this recipe and would definitely suggest listening to the advice about the fewer on the pan the better. I think I had too many cooking at one time so they weren't as crispy as I would have liked...but still pretty yummy!

Overall, a pretty relaxing Sunday :)
