A Special Surprise.

Today I received a special package in the mail from Kathryn. I was so excited because I had no idea what it could be, and who doesn't LOVE getting mail?!?

It turns out she sent both me and Colby a special surprise.

I received "The Book of Awesome." It is the neatest little book that lists things that are just awesome. For example: Hitting all the green lights in a row. Always awesome, right?

Colby also received a treat.

Some of the amazing doggie treats Kathryn made! And Colby absolutely could not get enough.

"I love you Auntie Kafryn!"
After all the excited from the package goodies subsided, I headed to the gym for the 50 minute interval workout from death. If you check the workout log, you might have seen that I have done a 30 minute version of this workout but today I did the whole thing...and it kicked my butt.

If you are a fan of the elliptical, I highly suggest trying this workout if you are up for a challenge :).

After my sweat session at the gym, Matthew and I headed to the Jocelyn Art Museum for a special presentation of a work of art on the Holocaust. A storyteller that I know from UNMC, Rita Paskowitz, led a discussion of art and human perception.

It was a great thought-provoking conversation. We decided that the lights represented hope and the wires were a reminder that hope isn't easy. Its inside of a cheap, pine box representing a coffin. We made a whole story about this girl and the pictures surrounding her. A truly enlightening experience. I really want to go back to the museum again, this time just to look around and explore more exhibits.

But now its off to bed. Tomorrow is Matthew's birthday and so its full of even more surprises! I'll be sure to post on the details soon!
