Go Heels! Go America!

Today was such a great day! Its Veteran's Day, its the Carrier Classic, its 11/11/11...so exciting! All day I have been so excited about the kickoff of the NCAA basketball season and watching my Heels play in the Carrier Classic. Even Obama was there (cheering on the Heels as well, even if he can't admit it publicly).

Because of all my excitement, I wore my jersey today and I ran into a girl at MCC also wearing UNC gear. I was in my car so I pulled over and yelled, "Go Heels!" and she came over to talk to me and told me about the Alumni Association that was meeting at Buffalo Wild Wings tonight to watch the game. So Matt and I decided to go check it out.

It was really neat to see other people who went to UNC or were just huge fans all the way out here in Nebraska. Who knew other people would move out to Omaha from NC too, apparently there are about 100 alumni in the area (although only a few people where there tonight).

I am really excited that I have been connected with these people in Omaha. Makes me feel like a little bit of home is closer. Now I will have people to watch the UNC v. Duke game and I was told they help volunteer at the College World Series, more new friends!

And the best way to end the night...? The HEELS WON :)
