Beginnings

I woke up this morning in a good mood to tackle this week. I love the month of February, for many reasons: one being my birthday :), and I love new beginnings and every Monday is a new beginning right?

I was also very pleasantly surprised when I woke up to this from weather.com:

It was just as cold today in North Carolina as it was in Omaha! I am always so depressed when I pull up the temperature in the morning and it says Chapel Hill: 59 degrees, Omaha: 6 degrees, but today we were basically the same!

That excitement didn't last long when I looked out the window...

Yeah it snowed another four inches last night...

Hopefully spring will be here before I head home in August. Other than the new layer of snow, work wasn't too bad. Kari and I spent the afternoon at a local coffee shop in the Old Market trying to get some writing done. The coffee shop: Aromas, was amazing, probably my new favorite hang out place besides the gym.

Its kind of hard to see from the picture but Kari enjoyed a cinnamon bun while I tried a spiced chai cupcake...amazing. It was a great little brick building that housed both the coffee shop and Bliss, a yummy bakery. This place will probably be the death of me but oh so worth it.

Also, I received an amazing Valentine's package today from my sweet parents.

It contained: Dove dark chocolate, dark chocolate covered almonds, some jasmine tea, a few books, and some Baggin Strips for the princess. My parent's know me so well :).

After work and the gym it was my weekly Bachelor/dinner party. For those of you that watch the show, I was sad to see Emily go because she's my Chapel Hill girl but my Kacie B's still going strong (I have read the spoilers but am choosing to believe that it's wrong).
