Books by the Busload

Happy Friday! Its finally the weekend. I had a great start to the day, instead of work, I just had to volunteer for a few hours with Books by the Busload. I had to be at Westroads Mall at 10 am so I slept in and took my time getting ready this morning. Spending a few extra hours with this sleepy head is always worth it.

What a bum.

Also, my mom sent me this picture in the mail today with the note: "Who does this remind you of?" Not me and Colby of course : ).

I know if your a dog person, you totally understand.

Moving on.

I arrived at Westroads around 9:45 this morning and hopped on the bus ready to volunteer. Books by the Busload is a two-day give away every year in Omaha where a bus gets filled with books and people are allowed to pick out five books to take home with them for free. There were three locations people could go to today with three different buses filled with books. 15 people were allowed on at a time and allowed 15 mins to rummage through the books and pick out five per person.

For the two hours I worked, there was constantly a line outside. People really appreciated the books, especially all the kids that came. It was so special to see kids excited about reading.

After an afternoon of volunteering, I did a little shopping around myself than came home for a short run with the pup.

Now I'm just enjoying a warm cup of green tea and planning out my weekend. I have a pretty big to-do list this weekend so I am in for the night, enjoying cuddling with my puppy.

Hope you have a great Friday night too!
